Built at Garden Reach Shipbuilders & Engineers Ltd., the vessel is designed to assist in complex diving and salvage operations, including underwater inspection, maintenance, and repair tasks. Officials said the craft will enhance the Navy’s ability to conduct deep-sea diving missions and support maritime infrastructure.
The DSC project forms part of the broader push for indigenous shipbuilding and self-reliance in defence manufacturing. Once commissioned, DSC A 23 will join the fleet in bolstering operational readiness, particularly in coastal and offshore environments.
