The renewed partnership aims to strengthen the use of Health Technology Assessment (HTA) and other data-driven tools in shaping healthcare policies, improving clinical outcomes, and ensuring cost-effective delivery of services under national programmes such as Ayushman Bharat – Pradhan Mantri Jan Arogya Yojana (AB-PMJAY).
Under the MoU, the three institutions will jointly work to:
- Integrate research-based evidence into healthcare financing and benefit package design;
- Strengthen data analytics and research capacities across the public health sector;
- Support the generation of indigenous evidence to guide medical technology adoption and policy decisions;
- Promote cross-institutional collaboration for health systems research and innovation.
Officials from NHA, DHR, and ICMR highlighted that the renewed agreement reaffirms their commitment to building a robust, data-informed health ecosystem that supports equitable access and efficient allocation of health resources.
The collaboration is expected to facilitate more transparent and scientifically grounded decision-making, ensuring that health interventions are both effective and affordable for the Indian population.
