A large number of complaints have surfaced against the Fashion Rupee Loan App, which is allegedly involved in unethical and fraudulent loan recovery practices. The app, which targets customers in urgent need of small, short-term loans, has reportedly been exploiting borrowers with exorbitant repayment demands and harassment.
According to multiple user accounts, the Fashion Rupee App offers small personal loans ranging from ₹3,000 to ₹18,000 or more, with a repayment tenure as short as seven days. However, the repayment amount often turns out to be nearly double the borrowed sum, leaving borrowers trapped in a cycle of financial distress.
Borrowers have further alleged that recovery agents begin calling and threatening them as early as the sixth day of the loan period. Those who fail to repay within the given time are subjected to verbal abuse, intimidation, and humiliation. In several cases, agents have allegedly threatened to circulate morphed images of borrowers and have contacted their friends and family members to publicly shame them.
Such behavior constitutes a serious violation of privacy, ethical lending norms, and the Reserve Bank of India’s fair practices code. Many victims have demanded an immediate investigation into the operations of the app and its associated financing partners.
The Fashion Rupee App is no longer available on the Google Play Store, raising further suspicion about its credibility and operations.
