On April 17, 2025, Union Minister of Labour and Employment, Dr. Mansukh Mandaviya, inaugurated a newly developed 220-bedded Employees’ State Insurance Corporation (ESIC) Hospital in Namkum, Ranchi, Jharkhand. This state-of-the-art facility, constructed at a cost of approximately ₹100 crore, spans 7.9 acres and aims to provide advanced healthcare services to over 5 lakh insured persons and their dependents in the region .
The hospital is equipped with modern infrastructure and super-specialty departments, enhancing the healthcare delivery under the Employees’ State Insurance (ESI) Scheme in Jharkhand. Additionally, plans are underway to commence MBBS courses with 50 seats in the coming year.
Dr. Mandaviya emphasized that this facility is a significant milestone in strengthening healthcare services for industrial workers and their families in the state.
